Mastering Simulation Debriefing: Strategies for Effective Learning - College of Nursing
This workshop focuses on enhancing faculty competence in simulation debriefing using evidence-based best practices. Participants will explore the purpose of debriefing, core debriefing frameworks, and practical strategies to facilitate reflective learning, clinical reasoning, and psychological safety. Through interactive discussion and guided examples, faculty will develop skills to conduct structured, learner-centered debriefings that align with INACSL standards and support effective simulation-based education.

" جلسة حوارية: " الهوية البصرية : كيف نصبح أقرب إلى المجتمع .؟
شهدت المؤسسات في سلطنة عمان خلال السنوات الأخيرة تحولا ملحوظا في هوياتها البصرية، لم تكن المؤسسات الحكومية فقط وإنما على المستوى العام، المؤسسات الخاصة. هذا التغير لم يكن شكليا إنما أثر على طريقة حضور المؤسسات في الفضاء العام، وعلى علاقتها بالمجتمع من حيث الثقة، القرب، الإنطباع العام. ومن هنا تأتي أهمية فتح نقاش مجتمعي حول دور الهوية البصرية في تقريب المؤسسات من الناس، مع التركيز على البعد الإنساني، الثقافي، والإتصالي.

    1. Describe the purpose and importance of debriefing in simulation-based education. 2. Identify key components of effective, evidence-based debriefing frameworks. 3. Apply structured debriefing strategies to promote reflection, clinical reasoning, and psychological safety. 4. Demonstrate techniques to facilitate learner-centered debriefing aligned with INACSL standards.

Mrs. KOUKAB ABDULLAH RASHID AL GHARIBI
Dr. Koukab Al Gharibi is a nurse educator and clinical simulation specialist with over 15 years of experience in nursing education, simulation-based learning, and clinical practice across Oman, the United States, and Canada. She holds a PhD in Nursing Science and is licensed as a Registered Nurse in the United States, with extensive expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating high- and low-fidelity simulation programs aligned with INACSL standards and evidence-based educational frameworks.Her professional focus includes faculty development, simulation facilitation, pre-briefing and debriefing practices, psychological safety in simulation, clinical reasoning, and interprofessional education. Dr. Al Gharibi has led and supported undergraduate and graduate simulation experiences, trained faculty in simulation pedagogy, and contributed to curriculum development and accreditation preparation. She is also a TeamSTEPPS® Master Trainer and an active researcher with multiple peer-reviewed publications in nursing and simulation education.
Dr. MASOOMA KHAMIS MAHMOOD AL-BULUSHI
Masooma Al-Balushi is currently a faculty member of the Tourism Department (College of Arts and Social Sciences - Sultan Qaboos University - Sultanate of Oman). Masooma has more than 15 years of experience in the field of Tourism and Hospitality, has published in the areas of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Human Resources Management, Cruise Industry, Tourist Experience Management, Training and Development, Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Hospitality Education, and Academic Accreditation. Masooma served as head of the Tourism Department for three years (2010-2013), During that period the Department undergraduate program was awarded the UNWTO.TedQual Academic Accreditation certification. Furthermore, she collaborated with the UNWTO as a national consultant for a national study conducted on Tourism human resources in the Sultanate of Oman. She has recently been granted an award for Achievement in Research and Scholarly Activities by Sultan Qaboos University Vice Chancellor during the 17th University Day Celebrations
