Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
Breast Cancer Awareness Day is a community service initiative organized by the Maternal and Child Health Department, College of Nursing, in collaboration with the Oman Cancer Association (OCA). The program includes educational exhibits, posters, breast model demonstrations, Mammogram screening provided by the Oman Cancer Association (OCA) through its screening bus, which will be available at the College of Nursing during the event, and a breast cancer awareness movie to promote awareness and early detection among women in the SQU community.

دور الوالدين في حماية الأبناء من الانحرافات السلوكية
يعدّ دور الوالدين من أهم العوامل التي تساعد في حماية الأبناء من السلوكيات الخاطئة، لأن الأسرة هي البيئة الأولى التي يتعلم فيها الطفل القيم، والاحترام، وتحمل المسؤولية. وكلما كان الوالدان قريبين من أبنائهم بالحوار، والمتابعة، والاحتواء، زادت قدرة الأبناء على التمييز بين السلوك الصحيح والسلوك الخاطئ، والابتعاد عن المؤثرات السلبية مثل رفقاء السوء أو الاستخدام الخاطئ لوسائل التواصل ، فتوعية الوالدين له دور في بناء شخصية الأبناء واكتشاف السلوكيات الخاطئة مبكراِ والتعامل معها بطريقة تربوية صحيحة

Event Objectives
    1. Provide breast cancer awareness education through exhibits and demonstrations, documenting participation through attendance records. 2. Facilitate access to mammogram screening for eligible women in coordination with OCA, recording aggregate screening figures when available. 3. Assess participants’ perceived learning and satisfaction through a post-activity feedback form and summarize findings in the event report.

Through my experience in the Maternal Health and Risk Committee, I have honed the skills and abilities necessary for conducting educational sessions and workshops targeted at improving the competence of healthcare professionals engaged in maternal care. My role revolves around creating and implementing training initiatives aimed at recognizing and mitigating risks linked to pregnancy and childbirth, ultimately safeguarding the health and welfare of both mother and child.
